Freedom from Dieting offers skilled Medical Nutrition Therapy using a client centered non-diet model for all persons. Help is offered for children and adults with anorexia, bulimia, over-eating and body image dissatisfaction as well as for those who just want to eat better, who choose to follow a vegetarian eating plan and for persons with health challenges such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and hyperlipidemia.
· What to expect:
The first step involves an assessment session with Katy Kram, a licensed, registered dietitian. Based on need and client preference, persons may choose to schedule ongoing individual appointments at their convenience and/or join an eating recovery group.
· Fees:
Fees are established at prevailing rates for private practice dietitians in Columbus. Clients are requested to pay for service by check or cash at each appointment. Some clients are able to collect partial reimbursement under the medical portion of their insurance.
· Co-counseling:
Some clients are referred to Freedom from Dieting by a physician, psychotherapist or professional in another discipline; some come on their own. When the client has an outside therapist, Katy always seeks to coordinate care with that person or persons, with permission of the client. Clients are refered to outside therapists of varied disciplines as the need presents itself.

Eating Recovery Groups:
Groups can be helpful for many. Persons with eating and weight issues benefit from forming community as new skills are learned. The support of the group allows persons to break out of isolation and to connect with others in a safe, supportive environment. Katy has been leading eating recovery groups for over 15 years. Spiritual Direction:
Katy offers spiritual direction (sometimes called spiritual companionship) to persons who seek to deepen or explore their relationship with God. In an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance, Katy meets with individuals so that together they can listen for the movement of God in their lives. The desire to do this kind of companionship grew out of the realization that the deepest hungers of the human heart are not met by food or attaining a body size or acquiring external things. By allowing individuals to explore the conscious and unconscious longings within the soul, true nourishment is found.
